Krai initially has no recollection of the event, but he begins to remember as Tino shares the story everywhere they go. This marks the beginning of Tino Shade's admiration for the Strange Grief and Krai.

To escape from the pursuing Arnold's party, Krai and his party cut through the monster-infested Galest Mountain Range. There, they encounter the brutal monster Pote Dragos. Deciding to retreat quickly, Krai successfully escapes from Pote Dragos. While enjoying a relaxing camp by the lakeside, Arnold arrives in a fury! However, his behavior is different from usual...

Krai's party arrives at the hot spring town. While enjoying the springs, Krai encounters a dragon in the bath! Arnold's party, having barely escaped "Night Palace," also arrives. After reconciling with Krai, Arnold seems to be brooding over something all by himself... Mysterious shadows flicker in town, and Krai is abducted by unknown Sapien.

The town is overtaken by Bandit Squad Barrel, and Liz and her companions are captured. To lure out Krai, the gang threatens the hostages. Suddenly, Cave People (Troglodyte) attack, led by Krai himself! A dragon appears, throwing the scene into chaos. Confounded by the events, Bandit Squad Barrel are confronted by a trio in laughing skeleton masks.

After three weeks of vacation, Krai returns to the imperial capital. "The Gathering of the White Blade" had actually been postponed due to city conflict. Reluctantly participating, Krai witnesses the Emperor being targeted by a fox-masked assassin. The assassination plot is by the mysterious "Nine-Tailed Shadow Fox" organization. To protect the Emperor, Krai is asked to serve as a bodyguard.

Blinded by the allure of treasures, Krai reluctantly accepts the Emperor's guard duty. He impulsively gathers a team: Telm, Kechachakka, Kris, Sir Killigan Version Alpha, and Krai. Amid heightened security, the emperor and his entourage set off on their overseas tour. Krai, scolded by Kris and Franz, the captian of imperial guard, participate in the guard with no sense of tension.

Infiltered in the Emperor's entourage, a member of "Nine-Tailed Shadow Fox" stir up a dragon attack. Thanks to Ansem and Telm, the crisis is averted. Suspecting an insider due to repeated attacks, the Emperor assigns Krai to guard him personally. However, Telm, mistrustful of Krai, concludes that Krai is a "Fox" member. This misunderstanding lead to unforeseen consequences for them...

As the journey nears its end, Krai learns they travel by air and requests a postponement for preparation. Stange Grief fmembers, monitoring Krai, rush to support. Finally prepared, Krai boards the airship, but the situation is looking ominous... Suddenly, the Emperor's life is threatened. "Nine-Tailed Shadow Fox" reveals their true nature.

Krai successfully defends the Emperor from "Nine-Tailed Shadow Fox" attack, but disaster strikes when they enters the level 10 treasure hall "Peregrine Lodge" with the whole airship. After a life-or-death struggle with the fox phantom, Krai narrowly escapes and decides to meet the hall's boss, the mother fox, a god far beyond human. Krai's actions before this divine being determine their fate…
