The story begins with Ramesh, a patient who narrowly escapes death, and his wife's insistence that he receive proper medical care. However, a central conflict arises over Sheetal, a former nurse and employee of the hospital who has been in a coma for years. The hospital's dean, Dr. Mohit, orders her medication to be stopped because the facility can no longer afford the expense.

Through a series of flashbacks and testimonies, Sheetal's character is revealed as a dedicated and compassionate nurse who often went above and beyond for her patients. One pivotal memory shows a junior Sheetal attempting to perform an emergency surgery alone when the senior surgeon, Dr. Abhay, is delayed.

As Sheetal remains in a vegetative state for 37 years, a legal battle erupts over a petition for "Mercy Killing" (euthanasia). A woman named Meenal argues that Sheetal should be freed from her prolonged suffering, while the hospital staff and Janki view such an act as murder and fight to keep her alive.
