The Legendary Doctor - Hur Jun

The low social status of Hur Jun. an illegitimate son of a magistrate born to a concubine, pushes him to lead the criminal group of smugglers. Meeting Dahee, a woman who tries to save her dying father, leaves Hur Jun indiffrent and prompts him to make even more reckless decisions.

Hur Jun escapes from his captors and tries to save Dahee by reporting her and Jahun Min to the authorities, leading to their arrest. Afterward, he travels to Sanum with his mother in hopes of finding help, only to discover the magistrate he was seeking has retired.

Hur Jun seizes a brief moment of weakness to fight off his captors and escape, but by the time he chases after Dahee, she has already disappeared. Hoping to at least save her life, he reports Lord Min Jaheon as a traitor and reveals that Dahee is hiding in his house, leading to their capture.

After hearing his mother's firm encouragement to stay determined and press forward, Heo Jun arrives early in the morning at the home of Physician Yoo.

Hur Jun is tasked with escorting Doji to Seoul for the state exams, however his lack of an identify tag creates risk of capture.

Doji fails the state exam. Angered by unfairness, he tries to change the result. Hur Jun and Doji are told the secret of his father's past.

Hur Jun and the other herb gatherers go out to collect herbs for the winter but Hur Jun gets injured and lost in the unfamilar mountains. Meanwhile, Dahee's injuries are treated.

Hur Jun and Dahee are reunited and their love is made official. Meanwhile, the other hospital assistants continue to try and drive Hur Jun away.

Hur Jun discovers a mysterious doctor in the mountains and begs to become his student. Back at the hospital, Jun is accused of taking money from their patients and in turn is demoted back to carrying water.

Doji's mother continutes to push for his marriage but he only has love for Yejin, leading to refusing his mother's wishes. Hur Jun continues his lessons from the mountain doctor.

When a dying girl is brought to Hur Jun's home, he uses his new knowledge to try and save her life. However, the others at the hospital become enraged and seek to punish him for his acts.

After his promotion to warehouse manager, Hur Jun faces the jealousy of the herb gatherers as they refuse to work for him.

When a high profile patient requests Doctor Yoo's treatment, Hur Jun is sent in his place despite Doji's insistence that he should be the one to go in his father's place.

When the patients condition worsens, Hur Jun is accused of malpractice and held prisoner while they await the arrival of Doctor Yoo.

The success of Hur Jun's treatment earns him a greater reputation, a collection of goods, and a most important letter that can change his future.

Enraged by the actions of Doctor Yoo, Hur Jun spirals into depression as he begins to fall back into his old ways.

Hur Jun gets tricked into following Banposu's scheme, ending in both of their arrests.

After coming to the realizaion of why he wants to become a doctor, Hur Jun returns to Doctor Yoo to beg his forgiveness.

Hur Jun hears the story and life of the Priest Minse who dedicated his life to caring for lepers.

Hur Jun's trip into the village crosses his path with the runaway lepers who have been captured by the villagers.

Doji and Hur Jun both begin their respective journeys on route to take the medical examination.

Even though he is in a hurry to take the medical examination, Hur Jun sees local patients. Lady Yejin returns to Dr. Yoo's infirmary.

It's a race against the clock, as Hur Jun only has two days to travel 100km to Seoul in order to take the medical examination. Doji retakes the exam.

Celebration ensues for Doji's passing of the medical examination. Rumors of Hur Jun's righteous deeds precede his eventful return to Sanum.
