Jwa Yuni is a competent assistant of Managing Director Bong of YB Headquarters. She tries her best to cover for her boss' affair rather than taking care of her own love life and ends up getting herself in trouble. Nam Chiwon, who is uninterested in other people's business, keeps running into Yuni and finds her odd and unpleasant.

Yuni is humiliated by Bong's wife who is mistakenly convinced that Yuni is Bong's mistress. While giving an orientation to the new assistants, Yuni finds out that there is a rumor about her spreading throughout the company. And she ends up being on the waiting list to be assigned. Meanwhile, Jeongae who seems to have a good life as a housewife comes out with her secret to the three jugglers.

Chiwon is bothered by Yuni who keeps intruding his workspace saying that she would stick to him like glue. Yul offers Yuni a deal to get him a new assistant just like her in exchange for an important information about Chiwon. Jeongae stays with Yuni after she runs away from the loan shark. Meanwhile, Yuni's mother asks Kyungrye to look for a young man to move in as Yuni's upstairs tenant.

Although Chiwon is Yuni's boss at work, their positions are reversed as they become the tenant and landlord. Yuni gets excited about the situation and even gives him a list of the house rules, but she ends up with more annoying tasks. Meanwhile, Yuni tries to get Jeongae hired as Yul's new assistant by posing her as her younger sister.

Yuni starts to get to know about Chiwon through the questionnaire he filled out and debates with herself if she should hand it to Sangmoo. On the night Chiwon drinks with Yul, someone breaks into Yuni's basement and Yuni asks Chiwon for help. Meanwhile, Yuni tries everything to get Chiwon to participate in YB's event where they pick the best boss to be promoted.

Yuni feels terrible after Chiwon knocks over the birthday cake she prepared for him in front of everyone. On top of that, she finds out that she has to work with her first love Changsu on the same team. Chiwon starts to open his mind to Yuni while feeling sorry to her. Yul gives a mission to Jeongae to get him a limited edition shoes in the frigid winter.

Chiwon warns Jangwoo for insulting Yuni and applies for Best Boss Award as she wanted. While Chiwon stays in Yuni's place on Christmas due to a freezing burst accident, Taeyi visits unannounced which leads to a misunderstanding of the situation with Yuni's mother. Meanwhile, in the middle of Yuni's presentation at the award, an unrelated video is played instead of what Yuni has prepared.

Yuni takes Chiwon to the hospital when he passes out. But then Chiwon disappears when Yuni left his side for a bit. Taegeun tells the story of Chiwon's heartbreaking past to Yuni, who has been running around to look for him. Feeling uncomfortable about Yuni finding out his secret, Chiwon tries to keep his distance from Yuni and tells her to find a new tenant.

After the kiss, Chiwon and Yuni avoid each other at home and work, out of awkwardness and embarrassment. Chiwon is informed that YB Electronics' new product, which Sangmoo is in charge of the promotion, has a defect and starts to investigate in secret. Since the insurance investigator pays a visit to her home, Jeongae comes clean about the truth between her and her husband to her friends.

Yuni and Chiwon spend Yuni's 30th birthday together and start to date in secret. Yul is thrilled about Jeongae being on his side as they work on the e-sports business together and propose a collaborative project to Chiwon. Meanwhile, things between Chiwon and Changsu get heated over Yuni.

Yuni feels frustrated all day after seeing Chiwon stepping out with his ex-wife, Dohee at the company. As it gets close to appointing the new vice president, Sangmoo looks for a new connection fearing that Chiwon might outdo him. For Yuni who has been waiting all night for Chiwon to come home, Chiwon promises to spend the day as she wishes.

Yuni and Dohee keep each other in check while Yuni behaves confidently, which makes Chiwon open up to her more for her honesty. Even though Yuni's mother finds Chiwon admirable for succeeding after going through hardships, she meets Chiwon and tells him that she doesn't want him to date Yuni.

The rumor about Yuni and Chiwon's inappropriate relationship and them living together gets spread throughout the entire company. Yet, Chiwon refuses to care about what others think and admits that they are dating. Sangmoo gathers the executives and submits the statement of demanding Chiwon's resignation.

Soon after running into Jangwoo, Yuni and Chiwon find out that he is appointed to be in charge of the reorganization. On top of that, Yuni gets instructed to transfer and become Jangwoo's assistant again. Yuni decides to follow the instruction for the team against Chiwon's will. Yul feels betrayed by Jeongae and treats her coldly while Jeongae feels terrible with regret.

Chiwon and the video department team work together to keep the team safe from the dissolution and bring Yuni back. Yuni plans to get back at Jangwoo, who has been treating his assistants unfairly including Yuni. Meanwhile, in order to make Jeongae rethink about quitting, Yul even goes to her house and retreats Jeongae's name for her.

Yuni is excited to go back to where she was, wearing the shoes Chiwon gave her as a gift. All that left is to expose the irregularity that Sangmoo has committed so far. After Bona had an honest talk with Yuni at the bar, she becomes conflicted between friendship and success. Yet, she ends up handing something secretive to Yuni.
