Qiao Jing and Gu Yi's relationship deepens as Zhou Rui uncovers Yao Shunde's identity. Gu Yi learns Fang Pei is involved in Su Juan's death but keeps it from Qiao Jing. Su Juan seeks revenge and reunites with Gu Nan, while tensions rise at a family gathering.

Gu Nan introduces Su Juan to the family, angering Gu Yi, who storms out. Gu Nan hires Su Juan as a project manager. At a welcome party, Gu Yi and Su Juan face off. Gu Yi wins a spicy challenge but suffers stomach pain, while Su Juan charms Qiao Jing.

Fang Pei confronts Gu Nan about transferring Gu Yi to a construction site, where he faces challenges and endures garbage supervision. Despite Zhou Rui's warnings, Gu Yi investigates possible conspiracies and considers starting a business, but an accident injures his subordinate, Lin Yongquan, just as he plans to begin.

Su Juan decides to discipline Gu Yi after a construction accident. Gu Yi investigates and discovers overloaded garbage trucks are to blame, teaming up with Lin Yongquan. Meanwhile, Gu Nan falls ill, and Gu Yi struggles for approval from Li Jing, concerned about his relationship with Fang Pei.

Li Jing's efforts to separate Qiao Jing and Gu Yi backfire as she learns of Qiao Jing's past miscarriage and Gu Yi's sincerity. Su Juan's betrayal is revealed, causing Qiao Jing to sever ties with her. Gu Yi confronts Zhou Rui, leading to an emotional embrace between him and Qiao Jing.

Su Juan withdraws a lawsuit to protect Zhou Rui after Gu Nan's death, who leaves his assets to her. Fang Pei suspects the will is forged. Gu Yi discovers clues about a missing painting related to Gu Nan's safe. Qiao Jing sneaks into Su Juan's office but is caught.

During Su Juan's inauguration, a video from Gu Nan revealed his forged will. Gu Yi, saved by Fang Pei's confession, reconciled with Zhou Rui and withdrew the lawsuit against Su Juan. Gu Yi then rushed to a surprise proposal ceremony with Qiao Jing, starting their new future together.
