With the family still picking up the pieces after the death of Denis, a stranger turns up on Val's doorstep claiming to be Denis' estranged son, Finn. Presented with this unwelcome guest, the Aherns soon realize their ordeal is far from over.

Val and her three daughters are stunned to discover the word 'liar' scrawled in lipstick across the mirror. To Val, the ramifications are starkly evident: someone is clearly out to get her.

As the Aherns prepare for Calum's birthday celebrations, they struggle to maintain a semblance of normality as the campaign of terror against the family escalates.

It's Callum's 16th birthday and tensions between Anna and Elaine reach boiling point. Jenny's ex-husband Michael arrives in town, devastated to learn of baby nell's existence. Joe finds out some shocking information about Finn, but tragedy intervenes to keep the Aherns from the truth.

Val resolves to make amends after Finn's intervention with the intruder. She holds a family dinner, but Alana makes a shocking announcement about Finn and battle lines are drawn once again.

Ingrid tells Val about Finn's threats and she reveals that she was aware of his existence but not that his mother had died. After Callum discovers the truth about Dennis's death, matters come to a head at the house. Grace decides she needs a clean break from the family.
