SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary

Kobato and Osanai had agreed to live as peaceful and inconspicuous ordinary citizens, and both had successfully entered the same high school. One day in April, Osanai asked Kobato to accompany her to buy some strawberry tarts, but Kobato was asked to help search for a stolen bag within the school. Both of them were suddenly caught up in this incident. Can they peacefully leave the school?

On Sunday, Kobato and Osanai visited Kengo's house, where Kengo served them delicious cocoa. When Osanai went to the restroom, Kengo asked Kobato about his changed behavior. Kobato skillfully evaded the question and left, only to face a puzzle challenge by Kengo's sister, Chisato. Despite her efforts, the way Kengo brewed the cocoa and the state of the sink had conflicting elements.

After the mid-term exam, Osanai and Kobato visited a dessert shop to eat to their heart's content. During the exam, a vase broke in the cabinet, causing Osanai to forget an answer she was about to recall. While Osanai eagerly ate cakes, she told Kobato about the incident. Kobato returned to school to retrieve his forgotten phone and took the opportunity to investigate the classroom incident.

Osanai's bike was stolen and left on the roadside. Upon learning that Osanai was attempting to seek revenge, Kobato asks Dojima to be a bodyguard. However, without fully understanding the situation, Dojima cannot accept the request. Therefore, Kobato shares his own deductive reasoning about the incident with him. Why did the criminal steal a bike just to go to a driving school?

Dojima, president of the school magazine club, asks Kobato for help when he submits questionnaires. The club members bought jam bread from a newly opened bakery near the school and added mustard to it, planning to have whoever ate it write the report. However, no one ended up eating the mustard-laced bread. The mystery piqued Kobato's curiosity and he began his deduction.

At the summer festival, Kobato met Osanai dressed in a yukata, and they strolled around the fair together. When they separated, Osanai asked Kobato about his summer vacation plans. Kobato replied that he had none, feeling a premonition. The next day, Osanai came to Kobato's house and gave him a map of dessert shops.. That marked the beginning of the "Osanai Dessert Selection Summer Edition.

Kobato arrived too early for a dessert appointment with Osanai. He went to a nearby burger joint, where Dojima happened to be. Dojima was watching a group of high school delinquents and shared the situation with Kobato. Once he noticed the students' movement, Dojima left the shop, leaving behind a note. Kobato picked up the note and saw it only had the word "Han" written on it.

Kobato, who had made plans with Osanai to buy apple candy, arrived at her apartment only to find out that she had been kidnapped. Without understanding the situation, Kobato left the apartment, and then received a text message from Osanai. It’s a request for him to buy certain sweets and named the dessert shops. Kobato called Dojima and asked for his help in searching for Osanai.

A few days after the kidnapping case, Kobato and Osanai visited a store for the last dessert of "Osanai's Dessert Selection: Summer Edition," a summer-limited tropical fruit parfait. Despite the parfait's size and price, Kobato reflected on their thrilling summer vacation, recounting their experiences starting with the mystery of Dojima's appearance at the hamburger restaurant.

Sitting face to face with a melting summer-limited tropical fruit parfait in between, Kobato questioned Osanai about the events of this summer. Observing him enjoying the deduction, Osanai also shared her own perspective about him. What will become of the two, who aspired to become ordinary citizens?

Osanai Yuki and Urino Takahiko, who are currently dating, go to a café after school. Urino strongly advocates for reforming the school magazine.

Since last autumn, Kobato has been dating Nakamaru Tokiko and has been concerned about the connection between Osanai and a series of arson incidents.

When Urino becomes the club president of the school magazine, he plans to stake out the next predicted arson location with the new members.

Urino predicted a pattern in a series of arson cases that escalated in scale. Meanwhile, the dynamic between Kobato and Nakamaru began to shift.

After declaring that he knows the identity of the culprit, Urino heads out into the night streets to catch the serial arsonist.

Late at night in the park, the serial arsonist was finally captured, bringing Kobato and Osanai together once more.

In December, Kobato and Osanai were walking down the street when Kobato was hit by a hit-and-run car and taken to the hospital.

Late on Christmas night, Kobato wakes up in a hospital room to find a box of chocolates on the table.

Every day, Kobato eats a piece of filled chocolate Osanai gave him as he diligently works on his rehabilitation.

When Kobato woke up, he found dried flowers in the hospital room, seemingly from Osanai when he was sleeping. Among the flowers was an envelope.

On New Year's Eve, Osanai came to visit Kobato in his hospital room, and the person responsible for hitting Kobato appeared.
