Akira was shot by a terrorist and lost consciousness. Since then roughly two hundred years had passed, and he awoke to an astonishing sight: a city devastated by war. Nation-states had vanished, and the world had become one where a unified organization called "OWEL" had taken control of the people. "Elsie," a system different from marriage, had taken root.

Akira receives a marriage proposal from Yugure, an android who closely resembles Towasa. Akira refuses but decides to work with Yugure, who possesses knowledge about Towasa and the world. The two set out for Tokyo, where the Omagi family lives. After traveling from Hakodate to Honshu, they meet Amoru, a girl who dreams of becoming a picture-book author.

After allowing Akira and his companions to escape, Amoru faces harsh punishment and is imprisoned within OWEL’s high-security cell. Driven by guilt and determination, Akira embarks on a perilous solo mission into the OWEL control center to rescue her. Against all odds, he finds Amoru and frees her from captivity. Together, they decided to open the forbidden book they stole—“Chosen Blood.” But what lies inside is nothing like a child’s picture book! As Akira begins to uncover its twisted connection to Yugure and Towasa, a new mystery unfolds.
