Mysterious Love

Ruan Nianchu is an actress in the Xiwei Theater Company. She is optimistic, energetic, and loves the stage, wholeheartedly wanting to revive the declining theater troupe. However, beneath this sunny exterior, she harbors a secret: Five years ago, just after graduating from university, she went to the seaside in Taicheng to shoot a graduation project but was swept into the water by a wave.

Ruan Nianchu asks Li Teng about his relationship with Li Xiaoyan. Li Teng clarifies that it's just work. It turns out Li Teng is the boss of Yuntai Security Company, which is responsible for the banquet's security, with Jiang Hao being a key subordinate.

In the morning, Li Teng is tying his tie, and Jiang Hao helps him, suggesting that Li Teng should seize the opportunity now that he has reconnected with Nianchu. However, Li Teng decides not to disrupt Nianchu's life and plans to leave her as soon as he retrieves the microchip, just like five years ago.

While searching for an electronic keyboard, Li Teng enters the theater troupe and amiably answers questions from Nianchu's colleagues. The troupe leader, knowing that Li Teng is acquainted with Li Xiaoyan, asks him to help persuade her to act in their play, to which Li Teng agrees.

Five years ago, when Nianchu was trying to escape, she was blocked by a group of men who intended to assault her. As she struggled, Li Teng appeared and rescued her. While Li Teng was teaching those men a lesson, Nianchu suddenly ran away.

Jiang Hao had someone decrypt the chip that Li Teng brought back, but Li Teng seemed more preoccupied with reminiscing about his previous kiss with Nianchu. Seeing Li Teng in such a state, Jiang Hao asked if Li Teng had mentioned breaking up with Nianchu.

Li Teng dropped Nianchu off at work, and as soon as she got out of the car, she received a call from Vasha. Vasha told Nianchu that if she wanted to know what she and Li Teng talked about yesterday, she should come to a designated place. Without hesitation, Nianchu went and asked Shiqi to request leave for her.

Previously, Qiao Yufei had approached Li Teng to find a bodyguard for Nianchu, and Li Teng decided to protect her himself. When Nianchu saw Li Teng again, she was a bit stunned. Li Teng told her he was there to protect her. Nianchu wanted to terminate the contract, but Li Teng demanded a breach of contract fee, leaving Nianchu with no choice but to let him follow her.

While receiving psychological counseling, Nianchu tells the psychologist that she has been having the same recurring dream for years, which is the scene of the ship explosion after Li Teng saved her. The doctor tells her that it is a psychological trauma and suggests she revisit the place.

After arranging for Xingxing, Jiang Hao goes to find Li Teng, who is studying a relationship diagram. Li Teng suspects Chen Guozhi because his appearance is too coincidental, just after Vasha disappeared. With Li Teng's hints, Jiang Hao also becomes suspicious of Chen Guozhi. When Li Teng stops Chen Guozhi, Nianchu arrives and finds their posture strange.

Previously, Nianchu and Li Teng were lying on the same bed, with Nianchu being held captive there. Unable to sleep and wanting to go home, Nianchu chats with Li Teng. Li Teng lies to her, saying she will go home soon. Nianchu knows he is lying and calls him out on it but doesn't mind, reminiscing about what she would normally be doing at that time.

Qiao Yufei and Jiang Hao take Xingxing to the hospital. The doctor is very angry, thinking they are the child's parents, and scolds them for being irresponsible, not even knowing about the child's mango allergy. Qiao Yufei feels even more ashamed.

Jiang Hao and Li Teng hand over the chip to the police, and with that, the matter is resolved, allowing everyone to relax. Jiang Hao plans to take his buddies out for some fun, but Li Teng has other matters to attend to and doesn't join them.

Li Teng and Nianchu watch as Lihua walks to the edge of the building, mumbling to herself. They try to persuade her to come back, but to no avail. Just then, Tori appears before Lihua with a bouquet of flowers, ultimately saving her. The doctor immediately administers a sedative to Lihua and takes her back to her room. Nianchu feels that the man with the flowers looks familiar.

Lihua looks at the sensible Xingxing and asks what her name is. She says she once had a daughter also named Xingxing, but then realizes her child is missing, leaving behind only a handkerchief embroidered with stars. Lihua's emotions collapse as she cries out, asking where her child has gone. Jiang Hao and the medical staff immediately come over and inject Lihua with a sedative.

As soon as Li Teng arrives home, Tori calls to threaten him, revealing that he has kidnapped Nianchu. Tori has placed timed bombs around Nianchu and orders Li Teng to bring only three men to meet him, expecting to see how Li Teng handles the situation, and instructs him to keep the phone line open for guidance.
