Ed is dropped off on a hilltop in the rainforest of Borneo. As he attempts to survive and thrive with no tools or equipment, his first tasks are to find water and construct a shelter of some sort before nightfall.

Dealing with the cold is one of the main dangers Ed has to deal with when he is dropped off in a remote part of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. And there are bears in the mountains, too.

Ed puts his survival skills to the test in a parched and rugged area of the Western Australian coast. Finding fresh water is one of his key priorities, but he also needs to keep a lookout for snakes, spiders and crocodiles.

Ed is dropped off on a remote island in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, where the potential dangers he faces include big cats, hippos and crocodiles.

Relentless sun and heat are major challenges for Ed when he puts his survival skills to the test in the foothills of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona.
