The Dragon King is defeated but a prophecy is pronounced. A boy is taken as an apprentice and his memories are removed. Years later a girl enters the city even as the boy, now grown, tries to escape it.

It's the entrance exam for Moyun Ancient Academy and Li Xuan is reluctant and late. It's also the first hurdle for Su You Lian's mission. Li Xuan and Su You Lian encounter each other in an unusual location.

Cui Pian Ran is jealous of Li Xuan's attention to Su You Lian and tries to embarrass her in front of the Crown Prince. Su You Lian's dance pulls at Li Xuan's memories. Classes begin and Li Xuan makes an impression.

Su You Ling recalls the battle with the Dragon King and the events following it. An attack on the Crown Prince forces her hand but when her mark appears she takes drastic measures to conceal it.

Su You Lian meets another prince. A plot is laid and a trick is played that ultimately leads to Lu Xuan completing a puzzle and a demon escaping - but reveals nothing to the instigators.

The Qi Lun is on the loose and killing the beauties of the brothels. The responsibility for capturing it is set squarely on Li Xuan's shoulders but some of his classmates stay to support him. The lure of disguised dancing maidens is set.

Prince Mu is introduced to Li Xuan and to Su You Lian. Li Xuan begins to learn what jealousy is. Her wounds, the Qi Lin and her classes have distracted Su You Lian from her actual mission.

A history exam is announced as well as the consequences for failing. Su You Lian hears a tune from a childhood memory but cannot locate the player. The Assembly of States begins and Cui Pian Ran tries to uphold Tianqi's reputation.

Su You Lian impresses at the Assembly of States but is foiled in her attempt to get what she needed. More than one person suspects her. Prince Mu helps her rescue some Kunwu captives. Li Xuan looks for opportunities to apologize.

Prince Mu devises a way to get the Kunwu out of the city, if they can get past Cui Pian Ran and Li Xuan at the gate. Yun Shan falls a little more for Xiao Feng Ming but is rejected. Li Xuan tests Su You Lian with a game.

The game gets a little heated but even a poison dart doesn't deter Su You Lian. Li Xuan and Su You Lian are trapped in the Mysterious World and captured by an old man who threatens to eat them.

The Elder decides that he wants to raise a baby - and with two adults in his domain the idea might become a possibility - with a little urging. Meanwhile, the students at the academy haven't given up but Prince Mu gets desperate.

Su You Lian stumbles upon the book of heaven and realizes that she has to get back, no matter what. In order to leave sacrifices have to be made. Li Xuan gets severely injured but no longer has the ability to self-heal.

Su You Lian returns but runs back to the lake to return to Li Xuan. Meanwhile he is trying to fight his way out and get back to her. A marriage is proposed and a fight breaks out.

Yuna Shan has fallen for Xiao Feng Ming but even he can't admit it. He steps into a truth formation in order to stop the gossip affecting her reputation. Cui Pian Ran tells everyone of her upcoming engagement.

Li Xuan announces that he and Su You Lian are married but there is some confusion over the truth. An imperial edict arrives. The Crown Prince passes off a mission to the Second Prince.

A skirmish with the Kunwu outside the city puts Su You Lian in a difficult position. She takes action but the results were unexpected. Li Xuan's confronts her but she continues to push him away.

Long Wei Er undergoes a suffering treatment every year but is interrupted by Li Xuan, who takes care of the fainting prince. Li Xuan asks for a favor and Long Wei Er asks for a quiet birthday celebration in return.

Li Xuan takes the 2nd Prince out for a birthday celebration. In the process he consults a man outside the city who gives him a lead on learning about his mother. A very drunk Li Xuan refuses to give up on Su You Lian's love.

Looking for answers, Li Xuan removes the Nation-Protector sword. Events unfold as love, hatred and revenge all clash. The Dragon King begins to awaken and lashes out against those around him.

Su You Lian is in hiding, unable to escape from the city. All the deaths are being blamed on her. Li Xuan is brought before the Emperor who sentences him to decapitation. The 2nd Prince has a plan to capture and kill Su You Lian.

Su You Lian battles to escape the city but Li Xuan catches up to her. Li Xuan is banished from the city by Zi Ji but the Emperor puts out an order to have him, and the 2nd Prince, killed. Soldiers come to the Academy to find Li Xuan.

Yun Shan returns to the city determined to stay with Xiao Feng Ming until the Demon is defeated. The 2nd Prince is taken to the court to be decapitated. The story of Wei Er's birth is revealed.

Wei Er explains his/her gender and choice. Yu Feng Mu shows Su You Lian a second saintess stone. Su You Lian agrees to marry the Prince. Li Xuan and Wei Er arrive at the capital of Sha. The Crown Prince is being manipulated.
