Van Der Valk

Commissaris Piet Van Der Valk finds himself investigating the murder of a young student, Milan Bakker, after his body is found dumped at a dockyard. He is less than thrilled when his tight knit investigative team is joined by overly keen rookie Job Cloovers at the behest of his boss, Chief Commissaris Dahlman.

One of Van Der Valk’s team is injured in pursuit of a mysterious suspect, Van Der Valk risks the wrath of both Dahlman and the great and the good to catch the killer.

After Lucienne is dumped by her girlfriend, Femke, Van Der Valk takes her out to drown her sorrows. When Brad and Job go to Van Der Valk’s houseboat the following morning to tell him that the body of a young woman has been found in a city hotel room, they find Van Der Valk and Lucienne together, hung-over and dishevelled.

Van Der Valk and the team are forced to negotiate a tangled web of lovers, employers and relations, all with a motive to kill. When one of these suspects is murdered following a very public confrontation over Aamina’s death, the team must step up their investigation and soon have a prime suspect in their sights.

A fashion vlogger, Ed Loman, is brutally murdered - stabbed in the heart and his eyes stitched shut. The crime is then broadcast across the internet - on Ed's own vlog! Van Der Valk seems less invested that one would expect in solving this spectacular crime and even grumpier than usual, with the team, especially Job, bearing the brunt of his mood.

With a new - and very public - murder to solve, the investigation continues and uncovers many people who had both a motive and an opportunity to kill Ed Loman, from disgruntled ex-lovers and rival vloggers to eco fashion pioneers and high fashion mavericks with secrets to keep and businesses to protect - even an anonymous and enigmatic street artist with an axe to grind about influencers!
