Paradox Live THE ANIMATION

In the near future, a unique metal known as “phantometal” is used to usher in a new trend into the hip-hop scene. Illusions are manufactured through emotions making a magnificent display for the “Phantom Lives” sweeping across the world. In ten years’ time, the legendary “CLUB Paradox” is reopened without warning and there comes an announcement that it’ll host a stage battle: Paradox Live.

Cozmez, a team of twins named Kanata and Nayuta Yatonokami grew up in harsh circumstances. Living in the slums, the brothers make a living to support one another. Whereas, their first opponent BAE is the exact opposite. Kanata’s dissatisfaction intensifies whenever he sees someone living a celebrity lifestyle. As opportunity would have it, Kanata catches wind of BAE holding a performance.

Ryu Natsume is a unique member of The Cat’s Whiskers. He doesn’t experience trap reactions when using phantometal and his past is wrapped in mystery. One day, Ryu finds a kitten and brings it home. Unable to find its owner and out of options, he brings it back to BAR 4/7 where he cares for it.

BAE pay a visit to The Cat’s Whiskers dressing room before the battle. Disregarding Allen and Anne’s respect for them, Hajun makes a harsh evaluation, but Ryu’s brief comment sets Hajun into a rage as he leaves the room. Allen and Anne chase after him only to be met with unfriendly remarks. What could have possibly happened to Hajun?

Akanyatsura are a family full of chivalry. Each of them burdened by the trauma of a certain event, they think of each other as a family unrelated by blood. Hokusai, Satsuki and Reo go out shopping one day and become entangled with a group of thugs to help someone. That someone turns out to be their next opponent: Nayuta from cozmez.

Allen finds a rare vinyl from Buraikan in a second-hand record shop. Determined to purchase it, Allen takes on part time work. Meanwhile, Akanyatsura’s Hokusai, Satsuki and Reo have their eyes on the same record. The three of them ask Iori for a job so they can earn enough money for it. The Cat’s Whisker’s member, Ryu faces a background check.

Shiki Ando from The Cat’s Whiskers has a deep, dark secret he keeps to himself. When he meets Nayuta Yatonokami at Paradox Live, he takes a step towards confronting it. Meanwhile, Kanata comes down with a fever and is haunted by strange nightmares. Concerned for his health, Nayuta goes out to by medicine for him.

BAE start to see what it could be like for them if they win against Akanyatsura as tensions rise leading up to the battle. Hajun runs into Iori in a corner of the slums. Hajun doubts him in regards to a certain incident but Iori deflects the suspicions. Hajun ignores his warning stating there’s a reason he has to win. The curtain now rises…

BAE decide to compete in an extra battle. They go to relax and stay at hot spring, and as luck would have it, Akanyatsura are also there! There, they learn from the inn’s proprietress that if they catch a legendary creature, it would grant them good luck. Upon hearing this, Allen and Satsuki hatch a plan.

Allen is reunited with his father after several years when his father hears about his participation in Paradox Live. Allen wants for his father to approve of his music but every glimpse of hope is brutally torn asunder. The day of the extra battle, both BAE and cozmez carry their desires with them to the stage…

The stage battle proceeds unceremoniously without BAE present. Kanata’s protests are drowned out when Buraikan make an appearance. Meanwhile, Anne and Hajun find Allen at a familiar music venue. Allen is in despair over having lost sight of his music. Hajun begins to recall a memory of the day they first met…

Losing Nayuta, Kanata begins acting rashly. As Buraikan carry on, the singing voices begin eroding all the metal. Why did they host Paradox Live after ten years of silence? Alter Trigger’s terrifying scheme comes to light. Cursing everything in sight, Kanata goes on a rampage and BAE are the ones to see it all unfold. Amidst the chaos, the ones to grab hold of the future are…
