The day after the wedding, Song Jinyu hurriedly gave Li Qian a supplement for vitality, thinking it would help their married life. However, Li Qian revealed he had never slept with Li Mingyue. Li Mingyue, on the other hand, said she had spent the night on a chair, lamenting Li Qian’s coldness.

Meanwhile, Princess Kongle sent a letter inviting her to visit Baiyun Mountain. Li Mingyue, hoping to ward off bad luck, agreed and asked her maid, Tan Li, to stay behind as a cover.

Li Qian eventually tried the Baiyu Osmanthus Cake and was thrilled by its bittersweet taste, which he loved. He was puzzled, though, wondering how Li Mingyue knew his preferences so well and suspected she might have hypnotized him. When Li Mingyue asked him for medicine, she deliberately spilled it and acted helpless, prompting him to apply it for her.

Li Mingyue didn't expect Li Qiansheng to be so angry. When he came to inform her about the hunting event, she happily thought that he had forgiven her and still cared for her, but Li Qian denied it, claiming he was just following the emperor's orders.

In the morning, Mingyue woke up and saw Li Qian beside her, wanting to kiss him but pretending to be half-asleep when he woke up. After dressing and preparing, they set out again. Li Qian insisted Mingyue stay close to him, not understanding his reasoning for concealing the assassin’s plot from the emperor. Li Qian's strategy was to lure the assassin into action by not revealing it to the emperor.

Ming Yue delivers medicine to Li Qian but overhears him using her. Angry, she leaves. Song Jinyu believes Li Qian isn’t sincere and suggests it’s better not to mislead Ming Yue. Li Qian thinks it’s fine, as it clears their minds. Ming Yue gets drunk at Kang Le’s place, angry at Li Qian’s manipulation.

In the martial arts competition, the two contestants, Li Qian and Yun Si, fought fiercely, showcasing their skills. After several rounds, Li Qian defeated Yun Si. However, Yun Si, unsatisfied, barged into Li Qian's room, intending to impress him with his muscular physique. Li Qian, initially startled, admired Yun Si’s physique but felt insecure about his own.

Li Qian placed the pillow beside Mingyue, who thought he was going to sleep next to her and was about to ask why he treated her like a pawn, but didn't say anything. She knew their marriage was fake. Li Qian asked her why she seemed upset, and Mingyue replied that she was bothered, but Li Qian mistakenly thought it was about the drunken kiss.

Yun Si angrily stormed into Kaierbei’s room, accusing him of hypnotizing Li Mingyue. Kaierbei explained he was powerless to help, suggesting Yun Si consider the bigger political picture. Yun Si, determined to restore Li Mingyue's memories, decided to handle it himself. Meanwhile, Li Qian, enjoying some pastries Li Mingyue had made, scoffed at news of a successful rebellion.

Yun Si accuses Li Qian of disregarding his identity and forcing Mingyue to leave with him, despite her vow never to separate from him. Li Qian insists it's a personal matter, as Mingyue is already his wife, and he will investigate her memory loss. Yun Si challenges him, claiming Li Qian only fears losing her.

After a period of practice, Li Mingyue truly learned sound therapy. In the next phase, Lan Gu played a complete piece, and Li Mingyue worked to organize her complex memories. As she gradually uncovered the truth, her memories were fully restored, but she felt torn between two paths—one calling her back and the other urging her to stay.

Li Qian, holding back his sorrow, changed his clothes when Mingyue arrived and mocked him for being too busy the previous day. She angrily asked why he hadn’t kept their appointment, implying he hadn’t received her letter. Li Qian concealed the ambush by rebels, assuming that Yun Si must have received the letter too, otherwise, she wouldn’t have left with Mingyue.

In the heavy snowfall, Li Mingyue and others took shelter in a pavilion in the western suburbs. As Yun Si and Tan Li went to fetch warm clothes for her, Li Mingyue pondered why Sikong Zhen had given her that pouch. Suddenly, Li Qian arrived on horseback. Surprised, Li Mingyue hesitated before running to embrace him.

Song Jinyu tells Jiu Sao that Li Qian’s coldness towards her is due to their unconsummated marriage, as women often feel unattractive when this happens. Li Qian retorts, asking why Song has failed to handle Kang Le, and Song deflects by saying Kang Le is too fierce.

Li Qian reported the rebellion to the emperor but did not reveal the rebels' connection to Lord Qiao, intentionally protecting Qiao Huixin. He only mentioned that Lord Qiao had been killed by the rebels, sparing the Qiao family. Huixin, in deep grief at her father's funeral, angrily cursed Li Qian and declared she no longer wanted to hear his name.

Li Qian made a mistake in his relationship with Mingyue, who admitted her fault of eating snacks in bed and promised to change. Li Qian gave her books to learn proper etiquette. However, when Li Qian discovered his fan was missing, Mingyue recalled using it to stoke the fire while burning clay.

In Li Mingyue’s hypnosis, Li Qian recalled his mother. He remembered how, when he was young, his mother gave him the poem Will Enter the Wine after he encountered difficulties at Chongwen Academy, explaining its origins and meaning. It expressed Li Bai's feelings of frustration and unfulfilled ambition.

Ming Yue and Li Qian continue investigating the cause of Zheng Fei's death, but those close to her are already dead. Only one eunuch secretly gives Ming Yue a note, revealing that the sole survivor is Deng Mo Mo. Deng Mo Mo, almost forced to drink poison, is saved by Ming Yue and Li Qian. She gives Li Qian a handkerchief that Zheng Fei had embroidered when imprisoned at Yongtai Temple.

Li Xun informed the emperor about the looted disaster relief grain from Qingzhou, causing the emperor to become enraged. He intended to reprimand Li Qian, but Li Qian was delayed due to being misled by Li Xun's trap. When he arrived, the emperor scolded him, but Li Qian explained that he had already arranged for the grain's retrieval.
