The story begins at Tahasildar Rameshan Nair's home. His wife Arundathi and children prepare to celebrate Thrikarthika. His daughter Arathi, lovingly called Ammu, has not returned from office yet.

Ammu tells her mother and father of the accident and how she admitted Mr. Unni Ravi Varma to the hospital. Her parents are shocked by the mention of this man's name.

A grateful Unni Ravi Varma tries to thank Ammu. However, his generosity is not accepted by her parents. They never expected to have him enter their life again. Arundathi does not approve of Ammu's decision to visit Unni at the hospital.

Arundathi, Ammu and Nandhu receive anonymous messages that Ramesh's life is in danger. There is also an attempt at kidnapping Gopika. Ramesh assumes Jagadheeshwaravarma is behind this and confronts him.

Karthik's mother approaches Ammu with a marriage proposal. She later calls and speaks to Rameshan about this.

Karthik and his mother arrive at Rameshan's for the Pennukaanal. Before he leaves, Ammu tells him that she has something to say to him.

Karthik's mother is not impressed by Rameshan's family. However, Karthik stands firm in his decision to marry Ammu. Rameshan and Arundathi decide to fix the marriage between Nandhu and Jithesh.

Jithesh tells Ramesh that he is not interested in marrying Nandhu. Ramesh informs this to Ammu.

Arathi tries to convince Jithesh to marry Nandhu. He admits that he is in love with her and not her sister.

Arundathi and Ammu are informed that Jithesh is not interested in marrying Nandhu. Aarathi warns Jithesh to behave appropriately around her.

Unni Ravi Varma and Arathi meet each other in town. Arundathi who unexpectedly comes across the two watches their exchange.

After Jithesh reveals to Karthik's family that Ammu is not Ramesh's daughter, they confront him over the discovery. This is when Ammu herself discovers the truth.

Arundathi is stunned without answers to the gut wrenching questions Ammu asks her. Eventually, Rameshan summons his children and explains his story.

Ramesh recounts the past. After listening to her father, Arathi sees her mother through new eyes, grateful for the decision she took years ago.

Karthik visits Arathy. He stays firm in his decision. Arathy shares her sadness to Arundathi.

Arathi meets Karthik again. She tells him that she has no intention of disappointing her family and leaving with him. Jithesh comes across their break up selfie on social media.

Just as Arathi reaches home, Jithesh arrives. She grows suspicious of his presence.

Ramesh bans Jithesh from entering their home after he catches him being inappropriate with Arathi. However, he leaves only after speaking ill of the Arathi before Nandhu.

Jithesh speak ill of Arathy in the presence of Nandhana. Influenced by his poisonous words the sisters begin to resent each other.

Jithesh's meddling creates severe problems between Arathy and Nandhana. He successfully drives a wedge between the once inseparable sisters.

Arathy confesses to her sister about the actual events that transpired between her and Jithesh. Unable to believe her sister's truth, Nandhana breaks down. She is immediately comforted by her father.

Nandhana who is heart broken by Jithesh's betrayal, attempts suicide. Her father rescues her in the nick of time. She later apologizes to her sister.

Karthik meets Arathy and informs her that his mother has approved their proposal. Her approval comes after learning that Arathy is Unni Ravi Varma's daughter. This disappoints Arathy greatly.
