The Law of Ueki

Seventh grader Kosuke Ueki is granted the "power to turn trash into trees" by Mr. K, his homeroom teacher and a Celestial King candidate. When his classmate Ai Mori sees him use his power, she uncovers an astonishing truth.

After learning about the Battle of Supernatural Powers, Ai starts seeing everyone as a possible enemy. Ueki and Ai spot a girl crying atop a bathhouse chimney, but before they can act, a headband-wearing middle schooler, Seiichiro Sano, rushes to help.

Lafferty, a Celestial King candidate, unfairly intervenes to help Maruo Taira, putting Ueki at a disadvantage. Unable to watch, Sano jumps in-he, too, is after the Talent of Blank. Through these battles, Ueki's fighting style begins to evolve.

While visiting a sick Mr. K, Ueki and Ai discover the "Law of Ueki": Ueki loses a talent when he hurts others and gains one by defeating Power Users. As they search for a way to stop his losses, the martial artist Li Ho appears to challenge him.

Ueki and Ai meet B.J., a hip-hop-loving Power User who bluffs by claiming the name of top contender Robert Haydn. But when the real Robert appears, the battle takes a new turn.

Ueki is utterly outmatched by the strongest Power User, Robert Haydn. Mr. K breaks the rules to save him and is cast to the Underworld. Though Mr. K urges him to live freely and walk away from battle, Ueki chooses to keep fighting.

Yodogawa, the new Celestial King candidate replacing Mr. K, urges Ueki to forfeit the battle. But Ueki vows to win. With only a few talents left, he faces Bolo T.-who has 215 talents and can turn his head into diamonds-and devises a plan to counter him.

Ueki faces Monjiro "Onimon" Oniyama, a seemingly lazy fighter with remarkable battle experience. Onimon turns kicked-up dirt into iron balls and fights with strict fairness. Seeing Onimon's resolve, Ueki must decide how to face him.

One of "The Robert's 10," the powerful group led by Robert Haydn, appears before Ueki-Kurokage, who can turn shadows into clay men. The battles ahead are true survival, but Ueki isn't alone. With his friends supporting him, he stands against this new foe.

Having long abandoned the idea of "justice," Kurokage gradually opens his heart as he watches Ueki uphold his own-even without reward. When he finally wishes to return to his old self, Kamui of The Robert's 10 intervenes cruelly, sparking Ueki's fury.

Kamui Rosso (Shirokage) suddenly interrupts Ueki's battle with Kurokage. Enraged, Ueki channels his anger and faces Kamui head-on. Days later, Taro Myojin of The Robert's 10 arrives-not to fight, but to deliver an unexpected message.

Ueki decides to join The Robert's 10 to destroy it from within, but struggles to blend in. Robert puts him through a grueling three-day tryout. Meanwhile, Ai visits Ueki's home and receives a mysterious book titled "A Gift From the Sky."

Ueki is pushed to the brink by Alessio's ability to turn soil into a massive scythe. Just before he's skewered, a giant creature appears, calling itself a Celestial Beast that came to devour Celestials… and Ueki is one of them!

Guided by Tenko the Celestial Beast, Ueki begins awakening his Celestial powers. Tenko discovers that Robert is a Ten-Star Celestial, far above Ueki. After seeing the power gap in his fight with Don, Ueki chooses to train inside Tenko's Awakening Organ.

After leveling up in the Awakening Organ, Ueki defeats Don with his new Sacred Weapon. But Marco-who can turn tomatoes into magma-attacks next. Rinko teams up with him to earn Robert's trust but starts doubting the group's habit of abandoning their own.

Tenko forces the exhausted Ueki into a healing machine, which needs 12 hours to fully restore him. Rinko, now on Ueki's side, returns to The Robert's 10 hideout to stall the remaining members-but finds only Myojin waiting.

Myojin threatens to harm the injured Rinko and Tenko if Ueki uses his Sacred Weapons, sealing Ueki's Neo power. Forced to take Myojin's dual attacks head-on, Ueki must find a way to overcome the self-proclaimed strongest member of The Robert's 10.

Inumaru, Sano's Celestial King candidate, brings shocking news-Sano has joined The Robert's 10. He asks Ueki to save him, and Ueki levels up to prepare. But as they head for Robert's hideout, the injured Rinko suddenly blocks their path.

Ai is brought by Robert to the Underworld's amusement park, "Dogra Mansion," where she's forced into a battle against Kabara, the newest member of The Robert's 10. Powerless, she must fight for her life-while Ueki is unable to reach her.

In the third round's cat-filled battlefield, animal-loving Rinko is excited-until she realizes her power to turn beads into bombs risks harming the cats. When she hesitates, Kabara taps a cat's nose, activating the rules and turning Rinko into a mouse!

If Ueki's team wins Round Four, they can finally escape Dogra Mansion. But the roulette pairs Ueki with the one opponent he least wanted to face-Sano. In the Jump-Rope Field, Sano's true reason for joining The Robert's 10 is revealed.

Realizing he's endangered Sano, Ueki, Ai, and Rinko, Inumaru chooses the only way to save them. He breaks the rules, knowing it means he'll be sent to the Underworld. Enraged by The Robert's 10's cruelty, Ueki drags Carpaccio into battle.

Facing Carpaccio, who can copy others' abilities, is like fighting all of The Robert's 10. Ueki counters with his Six-Star weapons, but Carpaccio's tricks go even further. Their battle of wits reaches its climax-the Dogra Mansion showdown comes to an end!

Scarred by childhood trauma in the Human World, Robert seeks to use the Talent of Blank to wipe out Earth. Despite his battered body, Ueki confronts him. As a Ten-Star Celestial, Robert explains why Ueki can't win-and reveals his hidden power.
