Ed's in Madagascar, taking on a vast array of tough landscapes in a country that's home to a unique range of wildlife. Fertilized bird eggs, snakes and mud crabs are on the menu as finding food or fresh water proves difficult.

Ed is dropped by helicopter on a mountain peak in southern Bulgaria's mighty Rhodope Mountains.

Ed is dropped in the Altai Mountain range. Despite facing ferocious mountain winds and bone-shattering temperatures, his mission is to reach a nomadic settlement across the mountain range on the Russian frontier.

With only the sun for navigation and no obvious food source, Ed must rely on his survival experience and ingenuity to survive the Bolivian Atacama Desert, the highest, driest desert in the world outside of the polar regions.

Dropped on Panama's Pacific coast, Ed faces a grueling 10-day hike through the Darien Gap, one of the most dangerous stretches of jungle in the world. It's home to deadly wildlife and used as a drug-runners' thoroughfare.
