SNOWBALL EARTH

In 2025 AD, after a sudden invasion of intergalactic kaiju, a painfully shy boy, Tetsuo Yabusame, saves the autonomous bomb Yukio and becomes an unlikely defender of Earth. Ten years later, now hailed as a "savior", Tetsuo heads into space with Yukio for the Final Battle. With 20,000 kaiju closing in, humanity's fate is on the line to bring an end to this relentless conflict!

The world outside the escape pod is covered in snow and ice, and devoid of life. Tetsuo sets off to find human survivors, his promise to Yukio on his mind. Riding an excavator that he finds in the ruins, he battles an intergalactic kaiju that attacks him, and it is then that he encounters the members of humankind who've survived! Can Tetsuo finally make the "friends" that he's always longed for?

After gradually being accepted into the fold by Ao and the others on the frozen Earth, Tetsuo finds himself under attack by an intergalactic kaiju that he's never encountered before. As the people flee en masse, he confront the kaiju alone. Its overwhelming power soon drives him into a corner, and just when it seems as if his number is up, who should appear but… !

Tetsuo and Yukio are crossing the snowy plains to reach the Mishima Mall, where Ao and the others live. Receiving an enthusiastic welcome from the survivors, who hail him as their "savior", Tetsuo, through his interactions with Ao and Takimura, experiences the warmth of civilization and community for the first time in ages.

Welcomed into the Takimura family, Tetsuo meets Hagane, a young girl who just lost her mother a month ago. She shows Tetsuo something that she built in her late mother's lab… Meanwhile, an organization called "The Light of E-RDE (Vierde)" led by a mysterious man called "the Colonel" is making ominous moves after learning that Tetsuo is alive.

Suddenly, Yukio is assaulted from afar by snipers. Showing up soon afterwards is "The Light of E-RDE (Vierde)", a brigade of boys and girls controlling kaiju. Like Tetsuo, their commander, Sagami, once belonged to E-RDE. He's a man harboring a twisted sense of justice and raging jealousy. As past grudges and madness mingle inside him, he unleashes a merciless attack on Tetsuo and the others!

Yukio, half-destroyed, is under fierce attack by Hercules, a powerful kaiju that emerges from the snow. Tetsuo desperately goes on the defensive, but bit by bit, the enemy's overwhelming power and calculated tactics backs him into a corner. Finding himself in dire straits, what Tetsuo tries next to turn the tide of battle is… communication, for the first time ever!

As Tetsuo and the others rush back to the Mall, they receive a mysterious transmission. At around the same time, Mishima Mall is ambushed by Vierde! The Boss activates the secret "Anti-Kaiju Defense System" to fend off the kaiju attack, and it's all hands on deck! Can the Mall residents hold out until the savior arrives?

Enveloped in wrathful flames, Ao returns to the Mall, now on the defensive. She and Land of Men take on the enemy. Vierde surround her, but by skillfully using the terrain and her flames, she overwhelms her opponents. Meanwhile, the Boss, a former member of E-RDE, recounts Sagami's past!

With the help of other Mall residents, Yukio's repairs are complete, and he returns to the battlefield as Snowball Rampart, with an enhanced right arm! A rematch with his bitter enemy, Hercules, begins. As Sagami manages to evade all of their attacks, Tetsuo and Yukio try to find a way to flip the script! The battle between the Mishima Mall and Vierde is about to reach its climax!

After a fierce battling, Tetsuo defeats Hercules. As cheers erupt in the Mishima Mall, Tetsuo attempts to communicate with Sagami again. In a daze, the defeated Sagami reveals his own past and his jealousy of Tetsuo, as well as his obsession with becoming a "savior". And then, he confesses a shocking truth… !

Touched by the purity of Tetsuo's emotions, Sagami starts to lose his will to fight. Rushing to his side, Yuma vehemently denounces Sagami's self-deprecating attitude, shouting out her feelings for him. And then the story unfolds - how the members of Vierde survived their harrowing past amidst the despair of the Big Freeze. What was it that they found at the end of the deadly blizzard?

Nadare, who'd been manipulating Sagami, turns out to be the humanoid variant behind the Big Freeze, and the destruction of Earth! Sagami, stunned by this revelation, finds himself in a do-or-die situation, until Tetsuo and Yukio rise up as saviors. Fusing with Hercules, the humanoid attacks. Battered and broken, Tetsuo and Yukio take on the ultimate enemy in battle!
