Three months after being diagnosed with ALS, Xu Duocheng pursued her dreams. She was rejected from the Starlight Orchestra but met singer Jiang Nan in a restroom. After an awkward encounter and a concert, they connected when Jiang Nan found her journal containing music. Media attention followed, with Yu Keqin seeking a photographer.

Yu Keqin discovered Jiang Nan was dating Xu Duocheng and urged her to leave. After drinking together, Xu Duocheng expressed she wouldn’t see Jiang Nan again. A photo taken by Yu Keqin got accidentally sent to her boss. Jiang Nan's manager suggested she and Xu Duocheng pretend to date, but Xu Duocheng refused.

Xu Duocheng told Yu Keqin about Jiang Nan's proposal to be his girlfriend, which Yu Keqin advised against. To support her father’s restaurant dream, Xu found a job. After a photo scandal, she agreed to assist Jiang Nan. Despite health issues, she secured a piano teacher position at a music store.

Jiang Nan, pretending to be his father, rescued his mother with schizophrenia. Xu Duocheng brought him keys to the nursing home and played his father's piano, which his mother enjoyed. Jiang Nan arranged for Xu Duocheng to play for his mother weekly, and she grew fond of Xu Duocheng.

Jiang Nan told reporters he and Xu Duocheng were a couple, diffusing the crisis.

Jiang Nan visits Xu Duocheng's parents and faces their tough questioning. Using his charm, Jiang Nan wins over Xu's family, gaining their approval and feeling a long-lost warmth in their company. Meanwhile, Boss Liang cancels Gu Jiayi's advertisement.

Xu Duocheng, puzzled by Jiang Nan's coldness, asks him about it and learns that he is secluded, writing songs. She feels the public attention has died down and decides to return to her own life, planning a trip with Yu Keqin. Zhu Linfeng accompanies Yu Keqin to taekwondo practice and confesses his feelings.

Feeling guilty for his harsh words, Jiang Nan prepares a meal to apologize to Xu Duocheng, who forgives him, resolving their conflict. To convince her parents to let her move out, Xu Duocheng claims she will live with Yu Keqin but actually moves in with Jiang Nan.

Yu Keqin successfully secures an interview with Jiang Nan, but Qin Shan's cold attitude frustrates her, leading her to take it out on Zhu Linfeng. Unbeknownst to her, Zhu Linfeng had arranged the interview, leaving him heartbroken.

During her period, Xu Duocheng is in pain, and Jiang Nan helps by buying sanitary pads and taking care of her. Bao Rui had scheduled an audition for Jiang Nan, but he skips it to care for Xu Duocheng.

The two arrive back at the hotel soaking wet, where the staff mistakenly arrange a room with a double bed. Xu Duocheng starts having thoughts, but Jiang Nan acts like a gentleman, urging her to change and take a shower.

The next day, Jiang Nan wakes up in the hospital to find Xu Duocheng sleeping by his side, feeling both happy and proud. Back home, Xu Duocheng gives the local specialties Jiang Nan brought back to her parents, making the ever-jealous Daling even more envious. That evening, as Jiang Nan looks at the MV photos of him and Xu Duocheng.

Caught off guard, Jiang Nan quickly hides. Xu's father brings lots of food, worried for his daughter and planning to stay for a few days. When Xu's father isn’t watching, Jiang Nan sneaks out, only to pretend to visit, joining Xu and her father for dinner.

Jiang Nan and Xu Duocheng enjoy looking at the photos together, which draws envy and jealousy from those around them. Xu Duocheng shares the photos with Yu Keqin, while a jealous Daling seethes nearby.

Xu Duocheng accidentally falls due to her illness and almost gets caught by Jiang Nan while taking her medication. Suddenly, Jiang Nan's aunt arrives, saying that Jiang Nan's mother has gone missing. Xu Duocheng and Jiang Nan split up to search for her.

Jiang Nan discusses Xu Duocheng's departure with Bao Rui, who believes that Xu Duocheng is avoiding him for some reason and advises Jiang Nan to go to Hejiahuan to ask Xu's father for clarification. Xu Duocheng learns that Jiang Nan is looking for her at Hejiahuan and arranges to meet him at the park.

Zhan Zhilin brings Xu Duocheng home and even prepares dinner for her. During the meal, Zhan Zhilin notices that Xu Duocheng's condition has worsened and advises her to tell her family soon. However, Xu Duocheng doesn't want to worry her family and decides to bear it alone. Zhan Zhilin, feeling sorry for Xu Duocheng,

To better care for Xu Duocheng, Jiang Nan starts researching treatments for ALS, learning health exercises, and preparing customized nutritious breakfasts for her. Xu Duocheng also participates in the production of Jiang Nan's new song. Seeing Xu Duocheng reconcile with Jiang Nan, Zhan Zhilin locks himself in his room all day.

Following Xu Duocheng's suggestion, Jiang Nan decides to revisit an old, unfinished manuscript.

Jian Xing goes live to expose Jiang Nan's violent behavior, drawing widespread attention. Cool Sing Producer temporarily suspends both Jiang Nan and Jian Xing's recordings. Qin Shan, upset that her company reported the incident without her consent, quits the magazine and begins independently reporting on Jiang Nan's case.

At the concert, Jiang Nan publicly accuses Jian Xing of plagiarism, crediting Xu Duocheng for giving him the courage, and then confesses his love for her, moving the audience. He reveals that he planned to collaborate with Zhan Zhilin but was rejected.

The fallout from Gu Jiayi's peanut allergy incident forces Hejiahuan to temporarily close. In the hospital, a smug Gu Jiayi reveals it was all a scripted drama. Hejiahuan's staff visits her, hoping to reconcile. Gu Jiayi outwardly agrees but secretly tries to disrupt Jiang Nan and Xu Duocheng's relationship.

With the mystery of Hejiahuan's allergy incident resolved, the restaurant reopens, and the staff celebrates. Jiang Nan's efforts for Hejiahuan earn everyone's recognition. On the way home, Xu Duocheng worries her illness is a burden to Jiang Nan, but he reassures her with his deep love and proposes.

After Liang Zhe arranges a compromising dinner, Gu Jiayi breaks ties with him, exposing his crimes and leaving the entertainment industry herself. Qin Shan regains control of the magazine and confirms her relationship with Bao Rui.
