What Did You Eat Yesterday?

Shiro helps a troubled mother fight for limited contact with her son while balancing his quiet domestic life with his partner, Kenji. Tensions rise after Kenji casually tells a salon client that they're a gay couple, exposing Shiro's discomfort with being out publicly.

Kenji becomes jealous after finding messages from a woman named Kayoko on Shiro's phone and fears Shiro may be having an affair.

Shiro is introduced to Kohinata, a gay colleague of Kayoko's husband. Additionally, Shiro learns that his father, Goro, needs to undergo surgery for esophageal cancer.

Shiro supports his mother while his father undergoes a long, risky cancer surgery. During the ordeal, his mother realizes how deeply she loves her husband, making Shiro reflect on his own life with Kenji.

Shiro and Kenji spend New Year reflecting on family expectations, aging, and their relationship. They find comfort in routine and in each other while reflecting on relationships and what "home" means.

Shiro starts mentoring a new trainee, but workplace interactions quickly lead to misunderstandings and awkward assumptions about his personal life and professionalism. At the same time, Kenji's subtle jealousy and everyday concerns surface at home.

Kenji and Shiro meet new people on a double date. Conversations turn to sexuality, stereotypes, and identity, including whether Kakei is bisexual.

At a dinner with friends, Kenji and Shiro meet Yoshi and Tetsu. Lifestyle and cooking discussions reveal relationship tensions.

Shiro buys himself and Kenji matching wedding rings to ward off single women at work events. Meanwhile, Kenji's boss Yu admits to cheating on his wife, and Kenji is approached by Miyake to vent after taking on a challenging new role at work.

Kenji's family unexpectedly requests to meet Shiro, making Shiro feel incredibly nervous. Despite his initial anxiety, the meeting is a massive success. Afterward, Shiro feels overwhelmed and deeply grateful for the warm, easy acceptance he receives from Kenji's mother and sisters.

Shiro Kakei visits his parents' home. During the trip, his mother makes a surprising suggestion, and Shiro ends up observing her cooking methods.

Shiro brings Kenji to meet his family for the first time. To prepare for this significant relationship milestone, a nervous Kenji dresses up in a suit and trench coat, much to Shiro's surprise.
