Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World

A year has passed since the liberation of the Sanctuary. Now united, Emilia's faction enjoys peaceful and fulfilling days, which come to an end when an emissary arrives with an invitation to the Water Gate City of Priestella sent by Anastasia to Emilia. They accept and head for Priestella, where they soon encounter several reunions.

Sirius appears on top of the clock tower and kills Subaru before he even has the chance to know what was going on. Determined to stop her heinous acts, Subaru rushes to the tower and tries to rescue a captured boy named Lusbel. However, a sudden overwhelming fear grips him. While Subaru desperately tries to stay upright, Sirius' cheerful voice echoes through the air.

Archbishop of Greed Regulus Corneus saves Emilia from Sirius' flames. Regulus cradles the unconscious Emilia in his arms, claiming her as his bride. However, Sirius presses on with her attack and attempts to incinerate both Regulus and Emilia in a massive pillar of flames. Meanwhile, as Otto makes his way toward the Muse Company, he sees a guard brutally murdered by an unknown assailant.

Garfiel and Mimi arrive at the city hall square in search of Liara's missing children. However, they are met with a gruesome sight—dozens of Pristella guards lying dead, brutally cut down by the two cultists standing before them: a man wielding two massive blades and a woman armed with a single-edged sword.

Regulus delights in Emilia's confusion, declaring her the embodiment of his ideal maiden. A woman called #184 brings the bewildered Emilia a change of clothes, and Emilia asks her about Regulus. Meanwhile, Subaru and Crusch, who were fighting Roy on the rooftop of the city hall, leave the battle to Julius and rush downstairs to the broadcast room.

After Subaru is engulfed in a dark torrent that floods Pristella, he wakes up to find Priscilla and Liliana by his side. They inform him that Capella of the Witch Cult has issued new demands through a city-wide broadcast via the meteor system. Enraged by this news, Subaru vows to bring the cultists to justice. Priscilla, impressed by his resolve, offers him a reward.

Al picks up a magic mirror from one of the defeated cultists. When he opens it, the mirror glows and connects to Emilia. Surprised by this unexpected coincidence, Emilia reveals the locations of the Archbishops and her request for Subaru to protect Beatrice. Al relays her message to Subaru, and just as he finishes, Garfiel bursts in, on the verge of tears, throwing himself at Subaru.

Subaru, Anastasia, and the rest of our heroes gather in the conference room of the city hall. Reinhard and others arrive shortly after, and they begin discussing the Witch Cult's four demands. While they have some understanding of the Witch's remains, the silver-haired maiden, and the artificial spirit, they are still at a loss regarding the Book of Wisdom. They aren't even sure if it exists.

Subaru and Reinhard set out to confront Regulus, the Sin Archbishop of Greed, in order to rescue Emilia. At the same time, their allies split up to take on the other Sin Archbishops—Priscilla and Liliana face Wrath in District 4, Garfiel and Wilhelm head toward Lust in District 1, and Julius and Ricardo battle Gluttony in District 2.

The Sin Archbishop of Lust, Capella, appears before Anastasia and the others at the city hall. Ferris attempts to trick Capella into revealing a way to cure Crusch's Dragon blood curse, but Capella brushes him off and takes him captive instead. Meanwhile, in District 3, the battle escalates between Reinhard and Regulus—the Strongest vs. the Invincible.

Liliana Masquerade, born into a family of minstrels, set out on her own at the tender age of thirteen. Now known as the Songstress of the watergate city of Priestella, her grand adventure yet continues amid crimson and white flames. Meanwhile, Priscilla openly expresses her rage at the Sin Archbishop of Wrath, Sirius, for her vile insinuations.

Suspecting a connection between Regulus' authority and his brides, Subaru sends Emilia to handle them. Upon returning to the half-destroyed cathedral, Emilia finds them still seated in perfect order, their emotionless gazes fixed on her. She asks for their help in defeating Regulus, but the weight of their prolonged despair is clear.

Otto, Felt, and the others continue to battle Lye, while in the underground waterway, Al is locked in a deadly struggle against the ever-regenerating Capella. Meanwhile, during his fight with Kurgan, Garfiel transforms and briefly escapes after being swallowed by a mass of flesh, only to hesitate before the incoming demibeasts.

Wilhelm clashes swords with Theresia, their fierce battle sending sparks flying under the moonlight. He looks desperate, while Theresia remains emotionless. This duel of steel is the same wordless courtship once exchanged between the Sword Demon and the Sword Saint. Yet, Heinkel's voice suddenly interrupts them, causing Wilhelm to falter.

Otto and the others hold their ground, waiting for Felt to return with the "meteor." However, they find themselves helpless against Rye, who effortlessly darts around them, toying with them as they bide their time. Meanwhile, at the Second District control tower, Julius and Ricardo struggle against Roy, the other Sin Archbishop of Gluttony.
