Attack on Titan Season 3

Eren and the others in the 104th have joined Squad Levi. In order to plug the hole in Wall Maria, Hange runs experiments hoping to harness a Titan hardening ability in Eren, but then is informed that Pastor Nick has been killed. Hange concludes that the Military Police are to blame and is reporting to Levi as a message from Erwin arrives. What could Erwin want them to know?

The wagon carrying Eren and Historia is attacked and the pair is taken away. Levi goes to chase after, but his path is blocked by a mysterious man. Levi shouts "Kenny", revealing some past connection to his opponent who uses ODM gear designed not to kill Titans, but fellow humans. Though alarmed by this spectacle, Jean and the others are soon swallowed into the fight.

Taken captive, Historia opens her eyes to Rod Reiss, a middle-aged man claiming to be her father. Rod reveals an important secret regarding the Reiss family. Hange also learns of the secret by interrogating a pair of Military Police. As they ride to inform Erwin of the news, Erwin is meeting with Pyxis to declare his intention of changing the course of history.

The Military Police have pinned the crime of a civilian's murder on the Scouts. As they take refuge and hide in the forest, they encounter two men of the Millitary Police - Marco and Hitch. They stumble across Armin fetching water but are in turn captured by Levi and crew. Finding fault in the Military Police's ways, Marco offers to cooperate with the Scouts.

It seems like fate of the Scouts is hanging by a thread. The Interior Police have driven Erwin into a corner and his execution is all but certain. Erwin gets one last appearance to be judged before the King. He insists that for humanity, losing the Scouts is essentially the same as losing their spear. In the end, who will be the one entrusted with the fate of humanity?

Just how much time has passed? Eren awakes in some underground chapel but his entire body is bounded by chains. In front of his eyes is Historia, having waken before him, but she's standing side-by-side with Rod. When they place their hands on his back, a rush of ominous memories flood into Eren's mind - memories from the night 5 years ago of the Reiss family being attacked.

Rod tells the truth about the Reiss family. The power their family had passed down for generations is now inside Eren. With that power in her hands, Historia will inherit the history of the world. She believes it is her mission to exterminate all Titans from the world. When the truth sinks in, Eren feels guilt for his unforgivable sins and sheds tears.

Historia defies Rod and tries to escape the chapel with Eren. Rod ingests the medicine that was spilled on the ground and transforms into a Titan. The resulting explosion sends Historia and Eren away. But their friends in the Scouts arrive to rescue them. Rod's Titan form takes shape and is even more gigantic. Faced with imminent danger, Eren decides to believe in himself once again.

Though Eren is able to save his comrades, Rod's Titan has reached the ground. Rod is heading for Orvud District, but instead of evacuating, Erwin formulates a plan to attack him. To prevent damage to the capital inside Wall Sina, Erwin uses the Orvud District citizens as bait. The Scouts head into that difficult battle to ensure not a single citizen is hurt.

After Rod's Titan collapses, Historia proclaims that she is the true ruler. Meanwhile, Kenny's life is in danger after escaping from the underground chapel. Memories of his grand life flash before his eyes. But before he knows it, standing in front of him is Levi. Kenny takes out the syringe that will transform him into a Titan since it's his only chance of survival.

Two months pass since Historia's coronation. She takes care of orphans on her farm and is called the "Cattle-farming Goddess" by the citizens who adore her. The Scouts begin experiments with Eren's hardening ability he acquired, but it is taking a toll on Eren's body. If it's possible to wipe out Titans once and for all, Eren is more than willing to damage his body for that cause.

The Scout's great desire to retake Wall Maria will be carried out in a mission in two days. Levi insists that the injured Erwin take no part in the mission, but Erwin refuses. Erwin strongly tells him that he wants to witness the truth of the world. Levi finally agrees and leaves. That night, a huge feast is held in the barracks to raise the soldier's spirits.

The Scouts march towards Wall Maria under the cover of night. After they pass right next to a Titan that's fast asleep, Eren begins to panic. "What if the operation to retake Wall Maria fails?" "Can someone like me even save humanity?" While Eren is shaking and scared, it's Armin who reaches out and speaks to him, looking back upon all they've been through.

With the Beast Titan at their center, a horde of Titans appears and surrounds the Scouts. While desperately defending their only way home--their horses--the Scouts also attempt to take down the Armored Titan with everything they've got.

The Scouts use their newly developed weapon--Thunder Spears--to deliver a blow that brings the Armored Titan to a halt. But much to their surprise, the Armored Titan moves once again and lets out a deafening roar.

While one front in the battle is rained on by flames, the other is battered by boulders. With no way out, the Scouts are forced to fight or die trying.

As Erwin's heroic charge buys Levi time to confront the Beast Titan, Armin comes up with a plan of his own that lays it all on the line.

While picking up the pieces from the costly battle, tensions rise when deciding which of the wounded Scouts to use the single syringe on.

The secrets hidden in Grisha's basement await in the ruins of Shiganshina. There, the Scouts hope to find answers to the world worth more than the price they paid.

A look into Grisha's memories shows Eren the many secrets his father was hiding, including one which led to his mother's demise.

Eren learns how all paths connect in the story that his father began. If Grisha is to pay for his sins, he must fight for freedom and take a stand.

Though it's met with hope and despair, the truth is made public. The Scouts then venture beyond the walls to see if it's everything they dreamed of.
